10 Items to Keep in your Desk at Work

I've been at my job for almost 5 months now, and have an entire drawer dedicated to those items that you wouldn't think to keep at work. I've found that all of these items were also always in my carry-on bag when I had to travel every week. Here is my list of the top 10 things to keep at your desk:

1. tea bags/small honey
2. snacks (granola bar/trail mix)
3. hard candy/mints
4. Aleve/Tums
5. Static Guard
6. Tide-to-Go stick
7. Band-Aids
8. Lint Roller
9. Lotion
10. iPhone charger

There are times when I go a week without using one thing on this list. But the day I come in to work and my dress won't stop sticking to by butt... you better believe I am one happy girl when I remember about my static guard in my desk!

First-Time Jewelry Maker

Yesterday while I was at Michaels, along with my recipe book, I bought a jewelry kit! It's a little cheap-o one for now, (I have to keep plastic wrap under the lid or all the little pieces go everywhere), but it's a start! I made these earrings last night:
The box came with all the tools needed to make the jewelry and hold the small pieces, then I found a few packs on clearance. I need to go back next week and get some parts for necklaces!
I'll be sure to show some pictures of any new pieces! Have you made your own jewelry before? I have a feeling I'm going to become addicted.

Recipe Binder

I've been reading a lot of cooking and organizing blogs lately, and decided it was time for me to make a recipe binder. I had some coupons for Michaels, so decided to just go look around. One of my favorite parts of the store is the dollar section--which is exactly where I found this $2 recipe binder and $1 notecards--both ended up being 50% off!
I've been filling the purple folder with recipes I liked from sites online, so I just transferred them onto the recipe cards.
I just made this dip yesterday for a picnic, and wanted to share the recipe.

 "Funfetti Cake Dip"
6 tbsp Funfetti Cake mix
4 tbsp plain yogurt
3 tbsp cool whip

Mix the cake mix and yogurt until smooth. Fold in the cool whip. Refrigerate until serving. Serve with graham crackers, animal crackers or fruit!

Stay tuned for some other recipe binder ideas--I can't wait to share these!
