Living in the Material World

"Go head, George. Go on and fly away babe, just be free."

From the looks of it Martin Scorsese has done it again. His Dylan documentary "No Direction Home" made me fall even more deeply in love, and I know his George Harrison documentary "Living in the Material World" will do just the same.

I've talked before about George being, in my opinion, the best Beatle and my absolute favorite. He was so unbelievably talented, a free spirit, intelligent and beautiful.

The documentary will air on HBO in two parts; October 5 and 6. It will also be available to purchase. For more info on George and the doc, visit his website.

Crafty, Crafter

I made this little guy for my mama for her first day of school! I saw a picture a while ago, and as I was walking through Target this past weekend remembered the idea! I think it turned out great. Cost only $12 to make and took about 40 minutes (I went a little crazy and practiced on some old crayons before I did the final piece, so overall it took me about an hour).

It's obviously perfect for teachers, but I think it would look great in a baby's room, play room, or even if you spelled out an entire name!

My dad's birthday just passed (eek I still didn't get him a gift), and I thought about using a black shadow box frame and background and using golf tees to make his initial! I'll keep you updated if I decide to do it!

If you want more detailed instructions or tips, please let me know : )

Bookworm II

Do you have a favorite bookstore that you go to aside from the big chain stores?

PAN-AM

I don't know where I've been that I missed ABC's show PAN-AM.
With my love of flying, old pilot and flight attendant uniforms (see my post here), and the 1960s, this seems like the perfect show to me!  I just caught a preview of the show this morning, and I'm pretty excited for it.

Have you ever seen the show?
