The Curse of 27

The death of Amy Winehouse truly saddens me.  She was a talented rock star and now a rock n' roll angel. Her bluesy feel and raspy voice attracted the likes of many.  I hope that she has found peace, I know that she will never be forgotten.  Such a same that she was just the young age of 27.  Amy is now part of a group of incredibly talented musicians whose life ended way too short.  Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, and Kurt Cobain all lost their life at the age of 27.  Could you even imagine what music would be like today if these artists were still here?

All beautiful people, all gone too soon.

Pomp & Circumstance, Part III

This post is very delayed, but I wanted to post all the great decorations I made for my sisters graduation party a few weeks ago.  In earlier posts I showed inspiration pictures for centerpieces, banners, etc. & I think mine turned out pretty well!  I definitely plan on using the ideas again for future parties!
Opening her gift from me!

Bookworm

I've posted about books and my love of reading before,
but this is going to be a first in a series of posts that truly shows the beauty in it.

Music Monday

This weeks video is "Whose Chariot?" by OAR.
I'm going to their concert this Wednesday, so I figured I'd pay tribute.
Happy listening!

It's All Good

...especially at the All Good music festival that is happening this weekend.

If you've read my blog for a while, you should remember me talking about Bonnaroo.  Well, All Good is pretty similar, just on a smaller scale.  Still a big rock out hippie fest, but this time less main stream bands, less expensive, and it's in the mountains in West Virginia, Marvin's Mountaintop to be exact.

Unfortunately, just like Bonnaroo I am unable to attend All Good.  I do have some friends going, so I'm looking forward to seeing pictures and hearing stories.  Sometimes there's really nothing better than being with good people and hearing good live music.

If you're going to All Good or if you've went in the past.. lucky you--I will join you one day!

Tune Tuesday

Jom Croce "Operator"
Been in my head all day.

Big Girl Job=Busy Girl

Scratch that, big girl job=tired girl.

I know, I know, it's been forever.
Well let me tell you, even though I thought working Mon-Friday, 8-5 would be a breeze and much better than my sporadic schedule I had in the past, I am just as, if not more tired!  Plus random nights out during the week are no longer appropriate.  I've tried, and I do not do well in the morning.

Don't get me wrong I love finally having a job--and I know my friends and family do too (they were sick of hearing me complain about "getting college degree, working hard, traveling the country, and none of it pays off!"). Well I was wrong.  Hard work will eventually pay off.  And, even if your first (in my case second) job isn't exactly what you expected.. there is a reason you are there!  It will get you somewhere in the future, and you'll most likely make tons of contacts.

So all you out there who are just entering the workforce, stay focused and make the best out of what you do!  And for those who are still job hunting, enjoy this time off, and know that you will find that job when the time is right!

Let Freedom Forever Fly, Let It Ring

Happy Birthday, America!
The Fourth of July is one of my top 3 favorite holidays.
I love everything about it.  Hope you enjoyed this entire weekend!
