How cool are these vintage copies of Rolling Stone magazine? I'm a big fan of Rolling Stone--not just for the music, but for the many other articles on movies, lifestyle and politics. Rolling Stone has come a long way throughout the years. I recently bought a book, Psychotic Reactions and Carburetor Dung, by legendary rock critic Lester Bangs.
Lester wrote for Rolling Stone as well as Creem Magazine and is credited for being a leading influence in rock music criticism.
The title of this post comes from "The Cover of Rolling Stone" by Dr. Hook.
There is a scene in Almost Famous where William tells the band they are going to be on
the cover of Rolling Stone magazine, the lead singer, Jeff, starts singing a verse of this
song and they all celebrate together.
If you haven't seen Almost Famous, go watch it. Now.
